meet our team

  • Shannon Headshot

Shannon Haerdi (RID), CEO, Principal Interior Designer

Thinking back, I am sure most of us can remember when we knew exactly what we wanted to do for the rest of our lives. My epiphany came way back in high school when I was guided by some inspirational teachers who encouraged me to spread my wings creatively and to express my artistic side. As a child I remember moving a lot and wanting to find my own personal space within our creative family home. So early on I knew I wanted to be able to share my vision of comforting yet functional spaces with others. Creating beautiful rooms and homes has always been a passion of mine. When you are passionate about something you want to share that with others.

    Favourite colour:
    Tiffany blue.

    Favourite design style:
    Transitional with a modern touch.

If you could keep one thing you bought for a client what would it be?
    An oversized chrome crystal chandelier.

What is the best thing you love about your job?
I love meeting new clients and coming up with fresh and creative ideas.

What can you not live without?
My team, my shoe collection, french fries, my iPhone, and David’s Tea.

    Favourite kind of chocolate?
Dark chocolate with sea salt and caramel.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon you might find me:
Going for a short run, shopping at Park Royal and then relaxing on a patio.

What do you specialize on here in the office?
Interior design has always been one of my passions and I love all aspects of the creative process. No two jobs are the same and I love making each new space uniquely shine. On any given day I can be found wandering the jobsite with my hard hat, steel toed shoes and measuring tape, and then off to one of our collaborating workrooms to go over pending jobs. I will then put my heels back on and meet a client at their home or take them to one of our amazing suppliers for their chosen samples. I will often finish the day at the office to go over my schedule and administrative tasks (the bain of my existence), it’s all part of the job. Ultimately I love what I do so it doesn’t feel like a job but rather an amazing way to live my life.

Out for a run, creating DIY projects for my own home, or out and about with my husband exploring the beautiful scenery of the Lower Mainland with my camera!

What do you specialize on here in the office?
Every day is different! You will likely find me drawing up floor plans and custom millwork, or sourcing artwork for clients. • Carla Headshot

    Carla Breitkreuz, Design Associate

    Favourite colour:
Any shade of blue. I love the versatility of it; a warm grey is sophisticated while a cool blue reminds me of the ocean and evokes relaxation.

    Favourite design style:
I am drawn to modern design with natural elements. I like the look of a waterfall countertop in calacatta marble with a wood floor.

A custom sofa in soft grey wool flannel fabric with a bit of tufting.

What is the best thing you love about your job?
I love the diversity of our design projects and the ability to express myself creatively while gaining a new perspective.

What can you not live without?
Music, laughter, my daughters, yoga, outdoors, converse runners, a variety of post-it notes, a fine black sharpie pen and anything coconut!

    Favourite kind of chocolate?
Homemade dark chocolate bark with coconut oil and honey; my daughter’s recipe.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon you might find me:
Definitely outdoors; gardening, hiking, biking and as soon as it’s warm enough, in the water!

What do you specialize on here in the office?
They call me artsy Carla; I work hard to add a creative look in every project we take on. It could be selecting paint colours that work with selected finishes, wallpaper for a client that wants a touch of sparkle, or designing drapery made with exquisite fabrics that complete a space. I also enjoy the challenge of bringing an imagined look to life in a children’s mural or faux finish and the equally important task of coming in on budget!

    Cheryl Jordan, Design Associate

    Favourite colour:
Just one?! Well, if I have to choose it would be indigo – it’s dreamy…I wear it well too!

    Favourite design style:
Mid-century modern is my first love but I like an eclectic feel – mixing it with transitional modern influences.

If you could keep one thing you bought for a client what would it be?
We created a piece of artwork out of wooden houses once. I would love to recreate it for myself.

What is the best thing you love about your job?

What can you not live without?

ANY chocolate with caramel in it.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon you might find me:
Running, hiking a local trail, swimming at Sasamat Lake, or of course, shopping!

What do you specialize on here in the office?
My nickname is the “picture hanging ninja” – ask me how I got that name! I enjoy sourcing for the “perfect piece”, whether it be furniture, art or accessories. My area of speciality is lighting.

    Indra Sarju, Design Associate

    Favourite colour:
Like the ocean, my favourite colours are various shades of blue.

If you could keep one thing you bought for a client what would it be?
A butterfly chandelier light. When on, it was like disco except with butterflies. What could be better?

What is the best thing you love about your job?
Well I don’t want to brag but I work some of the most amazing women who are willing to go out of their way to give clients beyond what they ask for. I love that while working hard we are still able to laugh and have fun.

What can you not live without?
Hmm…this is a hard one but probably a good cup of tea. No sugar. No milk. Just a hot cup of tea to start and end the day.

    Favourite kind of chocolate?
I have to say when it comes to chocolate I am not very picky, but my go-to is definitely dark chocolate of at least 75% cacao.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon you might find me:
